ROAD RACE TROUBLE

OFFENDERS DEALT WITH

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

The trouble that occurred at the 50 miles' team race organised by the Papanui Amateur Sports Club last Saturday resulted in F. Pearl being suspended indefinitely and G. R. Giles, jun., being severely cautioned. R. F. Dunlop and H. C. Basher were ordered to apologise before being allowed to ride again. Pearl and Giles, it was alleged at a meeting of the Canterbury Athletic Centre, not being competitors, rode with the teams and interfered with the running of the race. Basher and Hughey were said to have used insulting language to officials.
