It was the poet's abUity to use the foims aught that gave his poetry its human and universal appeal. A correct understanding of the forms ana their pro per use enabled . tho readers of the works of Burns to share the emotions ana sentiments of the poet. Mr. Andersen quoted many examples of the poet s works ana showed that Burns was a master- workman. A progiamme of music ana song was lomlered during the evening. Miss Hilda Clmdley sang "Turn Yo to Me" and "My Luv is Like a Bed Red Boso"; Miss Gretta Stark sang "Ye Banks and Braeb" and "Comm' Through the B>e»; Mi. Howe sang Aulcl Scotch Songs" and "Maiy ot A lSy}i", and Mi. Dallow sang "Flow Gently Afton," "The Border Ballaa," ana "The Bonnie Banks of liOch Lomona." Special apDteciation was given to a musical trio, consisting of Madame ac Mauny (piano), Miss Hendiy (viohn), aua Miss Hendry ( tollo) The lcndenng of old Scotch airs -jvas much enjoyed The accom pamst- wcie Madame dc Mauny ana Mr. Staik.
