Two .shops ia High street have been secured, lent by tho owners of tho Post' Office "corner block under the River Boarfd office, and the other by' Mrs. S. Potter,-neict to Shearer's. Mrs. A. J. Gearing "will be in charge of the ( former, and will have for sale cakes, '-sweets, sdones, l bread, and other eatables. Thosp who desire to .donate goods are asked ti send them in as early as possible. The Hutt High School pupils (and. primaryschool pupils attending thcN'Toehnical School are making goods for the sale. At the other shop_ the Peton'e and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, with Miss Hammond as demonstrator, is giving a, cooking demonstration, ,and all. ttia goods made will be sold 'f t»r the benefit of the fund. Mr. W. T, Strand", tho Mayoi, is giving the matciials'to ba. used at the demonstration.
