At -.the conclusion of a meeting of representatives ..of automobile associations and local bodies held yesterday in Palmerston North to discuss highways finance, a member took the opportunity to sound some of those present as to their knowledge on the question of furnishing unemployment tax returns. "I have,read everything I have comeacross on the subject, but, for the life of me, I cannot make head or tail of the matter," declared the questioner, who made an appeal to the representatives to "elucidate the problem." "It appears to me," said Mr. Grayson (Auckland), "that the Government has apparently relied.on the Press to pass on all information to the public.
