The Bastard was a fair performer as a three 'and four-year-old. In the earlier term lie won the Stetchworth Stakes, one mile and a half, at Newmarket (July), the Warren Handicap, five furlongs and a half, at Sando-svn Park, and the Southfield Handicap, one mile and a half, at Newmarket (October). Last season he walked over for The Whip, two miles and 118 yards, at Newmarket (May), and' Subsequently won the Yorkshire 'Cup, two miles. • - > ,
