STEWARD RETIRING

FAREWELL AT GISBORNE

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' GISBORNE, Ist August. During the course of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club's Meeting to-day the stewards of the three racing clubs in Poverty Bay, the Gisborne Racing Club, the Poverty Bay Turf Club, and. the Poverty Bay Hunt Club, assembled to bid farewell to Mr. Angus Gordon, one of the racing stipendiary stewards, who is retiring from his position, after nineteen years' service. Regret was expressed by tho presidents of the.clubs, Mr...J. W. Nolan (Poverty Bay Turf - Club),- Mr. D.' J. Barry (Gigborne Racing Club}, and Mr. R. Sherratt (Poverty Bay Hunt Ciub), and tributes were paid to Mr. Gordon, and regret expressed at the loss of his services. Mr. Gordon suitably responded.
