LUCESS MAY DO BETTER
The latest performances of Lucess have been a long way below expectations, and those who saw him at Trentham were left with the impression that he had trained off. Apparently his trainer, W. J. M'Lean, does not hold this view, because Lucess has been taken on to Eiccarton for the Grand National Meeting, and it is scarcely likely; that the trip would have been undertaken if'it waa thought he had 'gone stale.' It will-be interesting to see how Lucess comes through the final stage! of .his preparation, because there is a possibility :.tbht. he.
