OLD COASTER ON FIRE

WOODEN STEAMER KOTARE

INVKRCAKGILL, 20th July. A wireless messago received to-day by tho owner of the steamor Kotare from the Hinemoa, which is lying in Littl- Glory Harbour, Stewart Island, stated that the Kotaro was on 'flro at Little Glory Harbour. / As the Kotaro is an old wooden vessel and has been laid up under a caretaker, it is feared that she will become a total loss.

Communication with Little , Glory Harbour is only possible through the Hinemoa's wireless equipment, and no further details are at present available. The owner of tho Kotaro is Mr. D. W. M'Kay.

Advice has been received by the Marino Department that the Kotaro lias sunk, and is a total loss. The caretaker and his wife- are on board tho Hinemoa, so there is apparently no loss of life.
