A LITTLE INFORMATION
The attempt by the four 'YA stations
to broadcast the summary given from London early this morning of the first
day's play in the Test was uusuccess-' ful owing to unfavourable atmospheric conditions. This was unfortunate in view of the fact that for several days past conditions have been excellent for two-way conversations between Now Zealand and England. However, to-
morrow morning, commencing at 7 o'clock, another attempt will be made to establish two-way communication by wireless telephone, and conditions may have improved sufficiently by then for the project to be carried out successfully.
Mr. P. B. Broad, chairman of tho
Wellington Cricket Association, who, with Others, was at the 2YA. Studio this
morning in tho hope of being ablo to speak to London, announced ovor the air that he had picked up only a little
hero and thero of tho summary given by Mr. Gilligan, who spoke at the request of T. C. Lowry. His remarks referred to the splendid reputation of
10 New Zealand team at Homo and to
their very lino performance in tlio field (luring the iirsfc day of the second Test. Tho wicket, Gilligan mentioned, was alow and very easy, and in a vory sporting way he said that the run of luck had been wiih tho English team. One of the references was to a very fine innings by Duleopsinhji, who made 109. The fielding of the New Zealand team was first class all da.y. After lunch there was rain for about an hour and a half. Mr. Broad added that mention was also made of very good bowling by Alkott and Croinb.
