EUGBJT, 28th July. Answering a question 'in tho Houso of Commons regarding the, terms on which tho Allied war debts 1)o Great Britain had beeii funded, the Chancellor of tho Exchequer, Mr. Pbillj. Snowden, said the net amount of tho debts at the date of funding was abowt £1,230,000,000, excluding tho war datofc of Belgium, for which liability was assumed by Germany under the Tw:aty of Versailles, and the war debt a? Russia, in rogard to which no sottfiement had • been reached.
Tho Allied war deJbts to Groat Britain had been settled on terms corresponding to a romission of ajbout 05 por cent, of tho debt except in the case of Italy, in which case the renr'ission was equivalent to 8G por cont.
The amount 'received by Great Britain on aceoiuit of war debt payments to date wan £71,230,000.
