DEAR ONES:
Fine day, wet day——a kiss of Spring and a breath of Winter and it looks as though that moody old king were not going to reign so long as he did last year. To be on the safe side, we are having the Animal Page bright and early——three weeks from today- so that we shall be ready for the Spring Child if she dances along before she is really expected. Already, I know, you are making dainty gifts of story and verse against her coming ... a precious welcome for a precious child. Here's a wee thing that "Rose Queen" wrote for you, when she painted the picture last week: "Dipping to the westward, in search of the Sun, Hiding 'neath a rainbow cloud when tlie day is done, • A barque of fairy magic left a hidden shore With the breeze that drove it to King Colour's door. "To the Land of Beauty, where the rainboivs hide, Seeking for the Sun as he dips below the tide; Where fairy kings will keep mc forever in their power, Peeping back at Mortal Land in the dawning hour." Isn't it rather lovely?" ... a happy thought to send with any ship a-sailing. ... Contented days and pleasant hours to each one of you. FAIRIEL.
