BUS FACILITIES

■Attention was drawn by Councillor Margaret Magill at the meeting of the Eastbourne Borough- Council last night to the need' for a shelter for bus passengers waiting at Mercer street. She suggested that the council have a "waiting bus" on the stand in which passengers .could take refuger from the weather; and .instanced tlie case of. a_ private company, which had a "waiting bus.'? on.the.' stand in. She suggested an. arrangement ■with the Johnsolivilljß bus proprietors, who used the same stand, whereby ''either- they or the council could always have a bus in which passengers "could wait. . ■'•• The matter was referred to the Transport Committee, which will report "to the next meeting of the council. Another, matter referred to the ■ Transport Committee for a report, on the suggestion of Councillor C. ,A. Hbnale, was the advisability of reducing the Sunday bus faro. V
