WOOLCOMBING WORK
STOPPAGE AT BRADFORD
UNIONS RESENT WAGE GUT
LONDON, 13th July.
The "Daily Telegraph" says that work will cease on Monday at 50 woolcombing works at Bradford. Though only 8000 operatives are affected, the stoppage will quickly affect 100,000.
Immediately the reduction of 11.7 per cent, in wages was- proposed the unions determined to strike without even discussing the matter with the employers.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford has issued an appeal to the employers to withdraw their notices, at any rate during the, visit of Prince George, who will open an historical pageant there.
