DEATHS AT OKAWA STUD
■The death is reported from Mr. T. Tf. dowry's Okawa Stud of the imported sire Grandcourt, "by Captivatiori from La Huppe. Grandcourt was imported from England some years "ago, and, although not a great success at the stud, sired a number of very useful,performers,, probably the' best of his .progeny being Second Wind, who has done most of his iacing in Australia. Mr. Lowiy also sustained another loss at his stud recently, when the brood mare First Blow, in foal to Night Raid, also died; First Blow was" by Finland from War-Talk, and had produced two good performers in.Second Wind, who ran second to Phar Lap in/ the last Melbourne- Cup, and ..Gascony. ",
