An extensive cyclone moved on to thd Dominion yesterday. Its centre passing througU ' Cook Strait early this morning, while a, secondary centre has developed west of Westi port. Unsettled, dull, misty weather has, con« sequently, prevailed with almost general ratoi ' many heavy falls occurring during tho • night ' in tha North Island and on the west coast of , the South Island. Winds have been moderate to strong generally, and of galo force at places north of Cook Strait, northerlies having pre- ' vailed during Monday, but since last night ! they have backed to westerlies in the North . and to southerlies in'many parts of the Sou Hi Island.
