IMPORTS FROM CANADA.

The B.M.S. Monowai, from Vancouver, this week brought the. first shipment of goods from Canada subject to the increased tariff rates. The Monowai left Vancouver after the tariff changes had been brought into operation, and thus the exemption extended to vessels on the water at the time will not apply. The Moriowai's cargo is. composed mainly of British Columbian: products, such as tinned foods.
