MORROW
A correspondent, "Broken' Bylaw,'' returns to the question of the leasing of a portion of the Town Belt, neat the eastern portal of the Mount Victoria tunnel, and states that the original plans provided for ao petrol sbitionj and that the road from the tunnel was to turn into the belt considerably-fuw ther down than it docs now. He con* tends that the load now in making .had necessitated the excavation of hundreds of tons of earth, at hundreds of pounds expense, as the road turns, off more quickly under, the hill, and suggests that it will take many years of- profit to counterbalance- the expcnsq'incurrcd in connection with the site.'
It is understood that• tlio'..question!, will come up for final consideration at; to-morrow's mooting of the City Council, and though, until the vote is taken| no one. can. forecast, the result with cer-* tainty, it, is evident -that ;tKere, is a" strong feeling,,in the council against.thej proposal.. ■■■'■■,'•• -■'.
