'PROGRESS TO DATE
2751 ENLISTMENTS
Quito satisfactory progress is being made'in recruiting under the voluntary system of enlistment, according to a statement mado this afternoon by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. J. G. Cobbe).
The Minister stated that he did not desire commands to hasten unduly any recruiting up to establishment. He much preferred that care ' should be exercised in selecting the best -class of recruit rather than that efforts should bo directed towards completing.-establ-ishments at the earliest possible moment.
