DROWNING ACCIDENT
I (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) FEATHERSTON, 12th July. The body of Charles Fairwcather, a farmhand on Mr. Eric Eicldiford's Tora sheep station, who was drowned a little over a fortnight ago, .was washed up on the beach yesterday morning. At an inquest held at Mr. Riddiford's homestead to-day, the Coroner returned a verdict of accidental drowning.
The deceased was about twenty-eight years of age and married. His wife is living at Havelock.' His parents, it is understood, reside at Blenheim.
The master -of the Kichardson steamer Pakura received instructions yesterday to call off the homestead to pick up the body, which was taken out to the ship in a surfboat. On the arival of the Pakura at Wellington last evening the body was removed to a mortuary and was sent to Hastings today for the funeral.
