GARAGE FIRE
THREE BUSES DAMAGED
KARORI OUTBREAK
- Three large buses belonging to the Kelburn and Karori Bus Company, Ltd., wer4 extensively damaged in'a firo at the firm's garage, Main road, Karori, about 2 o 'clock this morning. The fire broke out in a small garago next door used as a service station, and quickly spread to the bus company's premises.
The Fire Brigade was quickly on the scene, but considerable damage was done before tho blazo was suppressed. Besides the buses, tho plant also suffered. TJio buses were insured in the1 Commercial Union office, and tho building in the Phoenix office. Two other buses owned by the company were parked in another garago for the night, and the service is being parried on with these, supplemented by buses borrowed from another company. . The Fire Brigade was also c,alled to attend a fire in an unoccupied house in Trelissick crescent, Ngaio, early this morning. The building, which was a wooden one containing six rooms, was badly damaged.
