The townspeople are becoming alarmed as the wator is gradually backing up round tho town and it.is still raining lightly. There is some talk of direct action iv cutting the dam down. People at ■Jcrilderic, Moulamoiii, and. Dcniliquin, towns lower down the river, object 'to the dam being cut, as their property would then be flooded.
