LODGE MEETINGS
The" annual meeting of the Wellington District (M.U.) Hospital Association was held last week, Bro. R. K. Couper, P.D.G.M.y presiding. The committee's report and balance-sheet, showing the work accomplished during the year, were adopted. Following were elected officers for the ensuring, twelve months:—Bro. F. Dennis, P.G.M., president; Bro. W. B. Brown, D.D.G.M., vice-president; committee, Bros. A. J. B. Foote, 11. Jenkins, S. Johns, F. M'Greevy, J. W. Russell, and A. J. Williams; secretary and treasurer, Bro. J. I'1. O'Sullivan; auditors, Bros. G. Bell and J. R. M'llraith; trustees,' Bros. W. H. Ma'deley; J. S.v Wilson, and T. S. Powell. Loyal Newtown Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., met on Monday evening, Bro. Mears, P.G., acting as N.G., supported by Bro. Waterhouse, P.G. There was a good attendance. Bros.. Angelini and. Martin, P.G.s from Loyal, Mangatainoka Lodge, Pahiatua, paid a visit, and were accorded lodge honours, to which they suitably replied. The half-yearly balance-sheet showed all funds to be in a satisfactory position. A report was presented by Bro. Mears, P.G., on a recent : social,' and Bro. Archeiv 1.P.N.G.,' reported: on a meeting' held to arrange for an ; annual gathering of members of the-Manchester Unity Order. It was decided to challenge Loyal' Antipodean Lodge, (present holders) for the Madeley "500" Shield. The latter portion of the evening was devoted to cards. ' 'The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Petone Lodge, M.U.J.0.0.F. (Moera branch), was held recently, Bro. M'Keown, P.G., acting as N.G. A donation was received from Bro. A. G. Shrimpton, G.S. The white degree was conferred on a number of members by Bro. Harris, P.G. Bro. Harris, P.G., installed the following officers: —V.G., Bro. Jones; E.S., Sister Rushton; guardian, Bro. Wilson. P.G. Bro. Stevenson acted as conductor. A committee was appointed to arrange a social and to report later. Loyal Britannia Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., under Bro. J. W. Harper, N.G.,-held its usual meeting during the week. One can-, didate was initiated, and two proposals for membership were received. A report on matters in connection with the Friendly Societies' Dispensary was given by Bro. Stuart, P.G. On the lodge being closed, a contest for the Perrin Pins took place.
The fortnightly meeting of Court Sir George Bowen, A.0.F., was held last Wednesday evening. The retiring C.R., Bro. A. E., Chapman, presided. The following district officers were present and' were accorded a welcome:—D.C.R., Bro. F. L. Parsonage; D.S.C.R., Bro. F.; W. Ward; D.S.W.. Bro. W. F. Ingram; D.J.W., Bro. F. S. Hay; clistrjet secretary, Bro. A. W. O, ■'Trovers. At the conclusion of ordinary business the' D.C.R. and District Officer installed the officers for the ensuing half-year.-1 At the conclusion of the riieeting a -game of indoor bowls was played, District Officers v. Court Sir George Bowen.
