A moderate anticyclone passed over the Dominion during the week-end and the weather, for tho most part, was fair, with light' and variable winds. Since Sunday, however, pressuro has been falling with, the slow approach of a shallow depression from the Tasman Sea. Winds becanjß mainly northerly on Sunday, and sinco Sunday evening dull, misty conditions have set in over tho North Island and the northern portion of tho South Island, rain falling at many places during the night.
