[TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The Houbo of Representatives met at 10.30 a.m. to-day. Mr. 18. G. B. Mason (Labour, Auckland Suburbs) intends to ask the Prime Minister whether he would introduce legislation enabling local bodies to temporarily reduce sinking funds in order to relieve ratepayers. Mr.H. M. Campbell (Kef prm, Hawkes Bay) asked the Prime Minister if he would see to it that creditors in the earthquake district were not crippled as a result of their inability to collect amounts owing to them. Mr. Forbes said that the Behabilitation Committee had a free hand in such matters, and he would see that the matter was referred to it. ■ Mr. W. H. Field (Beform, Otaki) gave notice to ask the Minisljor_ of Marine when the long awaited whitebait fishing regulations would be issued. (Proceeding.)
