Exception is taken by Mr. A. E. Sergent, chairman of the Lower Hutt Unemployed Committee, ..to- the 'form .in which his written piotest to the Mayor of liowjjr Hutt appeared in "The Post." He states that his letter did not refer to dismissals, but to a reprimand of a relief worker on another job; also that men who were mentioned as objecting to the bearing of an' officer were not "dismissed men," and had no connection with the dismissals on another job. The copy of the protest, as received by "The Post,1' contained the names of the men, but these names were omitted by us, as well ns some of the expressions in Uie loiter, and the refeiencc to "dismissed men" -n.is substituted in ciror. 3'etei' M.
