Both said ,that they had enjoyed themselves, but were tired from their trip and steady competition, and hud lost about 201b in weight each. > Tile tour of these two fine athletes, who wcic accompanied in New- Zealand by another university runner, Eufus Kiser, was regarded in America as a "goodwill" /trip, having as its principal object the encouragement and development of standard meeting events and in particular a better uudeibtandmg in international amateur relations, preliminary to the Olympic Games, opening in Los Angeles, California,^ the end of July ne^t year.' Every effort is being made in America to make this great international festival the most successful in tho history of the modern scries of Olympiads, and to this end'the co-operation is being .sought of the nations of the world. New Zealand has sent representatives to the Olympic Games since 1908, and as the holding of the next Olympiad at Los Angeles presents tha finest opportunity the Dominion has had of being represented by a strong team, special efforts are being made at tho present time by the New Zealand Olympic Games Council to enable sufficient funds to be obtained for tho purpose. __^___^__^_
