The Federal Government is hopeful that the success of the conversion loan in Australia will facilitate the funding of the floating debt in London. If so. ,tho Commonwealth Bank funds in London could be. released t-o meet recurring expenditure there in tha shape of interest, payments.
The Federal Treasurer, jMr. E. G. Theodore, probably will introduco his Budget on Friday. Ho will require to bo relieved from duty a fortnight hence to visit Brisbane to defend tho action brought by the Queensland Government arising out of the findings of the Mungana Commission. The action is likely to commence toward the end of tho month.
