The monthly meeting of ..■the council o£ the New Zealand. Golf Associatiou (Inc.) was held at the secretai'y's,office on Monday, when there werei present: Sir Alexander. Roberts (chairman), Messrs. A. D.j S..Duncan, W. E. 4. Gill, L. 0. H.'Tripp,! M. J. Crombie, W. A Kiely, Colonel E. 0. Chesney, and G. 0. Sutton,. (secretary). . ■''■■.■-.■■■ The following new clubs, which had duly made application, were elected members o£ the association:—]?airview Golf Club, Korth Auckland; Manurewa 'Golf Club, Auckland; Mercury Bay Golf Club, Wliitianga.l ...'..■ ■'■. : .' The committed appointed in Hawkes Bay to report to the council with regard to damage suffered by clubs in the earthquake area wrote to: the effect that they had had .their •■ first meeting, and the secretary haying answered certain questions raised by the committee, it is hoped that very shortly they will be able to send in their recommendations.; ' The secretary was instructed to request1 all clubs which propose to send in subscription lists to forward them as early as possible, in order that the list may be completed. Mr. if. W. Hobbsj Christchurch, wrote that he would be willing to act as chairman of the proposed green-keeping research committee, and it was also resolvedto ask Mr. L. Seifert, Palmerston North, to join the committee, which will then consist of the two gentlemen mentioned and Messrs. M. H. Godby, Christchurchj Erie M. Russell, Invercargul, and: W. A. Kiely, Wellington. . ; ■ ,' :. With regard to association professionals, it was reported that N. H. Fuller is at present in the Wairarapa district, and1 is available for further coaching by nny clubs which require him. Arthur Pass is to report to Wellington this week for instructions.
