This was Webster's only ride during the day, and his vigour at the finish contributed to the success. Isoorcello, who has now won three suburban handicaps in succession-, is ail example o£ improved stamina with age. She is a five-year-old by Violoncello, and earlier in her career was speedy up to sis furlongs. ' Taken to the country, she paid her way, but still improved, and now is capable of running out eleven furlongs successfully in the metropolis. , Head' Chief (Chief Ruler-Catcall) won a two-ycaivold race at Menangle with 9.0 (ttip-Veight). He is owned by.Mr.'G. N. Magill'/ who races. Miss Nottava, but is raced on lease by Randwick trainer J. King.
