FRANCE FINDS DIFFICULTY
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 3rd July, 11 a.m.) KUGBY, 2nd. July. Although the Paris discussions !*■ garding the French reservations to the Hoover proposals between Messrs. Mellon, American" State Treasurer, and Edge, American Ambassador, and a member of the French Government, were not being resumed until late tonight, various exchanges took place* during the day. The announcement -was issued ia' London which; after expressing the desire of the British Government that the Paris discussions would prove successful, stated, "should no early solution be found, tho British Government has expressed its willingness, in order that art agreement may be reached with the minimum of delay, to hold a-meeting of representatives of the Powers chiefly concerned at an early date." It was later stated in Paris thatj although the British suggestion strong* ly commended itself to tho French Government, Parliamentary duties would make it impossible for French Ministers to visit London during the pre« sent week-end. . The proposal thus remains in abeyancey and it is hoped in any case that such progress will be made in the resumed Franco-American discussion a* will make a further consideration of British suggestion unnecessary. The French Cabinet meeting earlier to-day considered 'further American' aide memoire. ,
