(Received 3rd July, 1.30 p.m.) .. LONDON, 2nd July. In the quarter-finals of the men's doubles at Wimbledon to-day, Henri Cochet and Jacques Brugnon (Franco) defeated Frank X. Shields ana Sidney Wood (U.S.A.). In the semi-final of the women's singles, Fraulein C. Aussem (Germany) boat Mdllc. B. Mathieu (Frans»), 6-0, 2-6, 6-3.
Fraulein C. Aussem was ranked No. 2, and Mdlle. E. Mathieu No. 5 in the "World's First Ten" last year.
