MOVE FOE EEDUCTION
MR. FORBES NEGOTIATING
Negotiations have been in progress by the Government for some time to effect a reduction in interest charges.
The Prime Minister (the Right Hon. G-. W. Forbes) stated to-day that he has been endeavouring for some considerable time to make arrangements for an all-round reduction in interest, and that with that end in view he has approached all the financial interests. "The conversations are still in progress," Mr. Forbes added, "as difficulties have been pointed out which I hope we may be able to overcome."
