FAIR WEATHER
MILDER TEMPERATURES
An anti-cyclone is now covering the Dominion, and tho weather this morning was fair to fine nearly everywhere. Strong southerly Winds prevailed yesterday in the North Island,' and they were .accompanied by passing showers on the East Coast between Cook Strait and East Cape. Elsewhere,the weather was' mainly fair, though cold every-' where.. Many frosts were registered last night. The southerlies have moderated, and in the South Mand the winds have teen more variable, with a. tendency'for n,ortherlies to prevail this morning.
Auckland experienced cold fair to cloudy weather yesterday,'with a light southerly wind. At Wellington, it was cold and fair," but occasional light showers fell" with the southerly wind prevailing. Calm, dull weather prevailed at Christchurch, and 9 degrees of frost were registered there last night. It was fair .to cloudy at Dunedin, and another severe frost occurred there last night.
The forecast is for southerly wind, at first between Napier and the East Cape, but otherwise east to north wind, later freshening. Somo showers are likely at first in .the Poverty Bay and East. Coast districts, but otherwise fair to line weather may be expeetod. Temperatures should becomo milder.
