Tho Town Clerk, (Mr. C. L. Bishop) reported that in May the revenue in tho bus department fell by £200, making a totiil decrease of £320 for the two months to 31st May. A possible cause o£ the loss of revenue was the overhaul of the ferry boats, during which time many ■ people took advantage of the cheaper fares on the boat bus trips. There was no doubt; however, that the main fulling off. was. in casual traffic, particularly on Sundays and public holidays.. Expenditure in the department was being kept down to an absolute minimum. In the ferry department the revenue fell by £80 in May, making a total falling off o£ £200 for the two months to the end of May. The expenditure to date was £100 lower than for the same period last year. The overhaul of tho boats bad been very satisfactorily" carried out, probably at a lower cost than last year.
