DAMAGE TO CALM
According .to a southern paper, the steamer Calm, .of 981; tons gross regis* ter, which was reported yestorday to have damaged her propeller, was leaving Bluff when her propeller struck some unknown*, object. She continued hor voyage, calling at'Dunedin and Tiniaru. On her arrival at Lyttelton on Tuesday an examination was made, and it was found that the propeller had been /seriously damaged. The owners decided to pay the crow off and lay the ship up for the present. Her transhipped cargo will :irrive in Wellington tomorrow by tho Storm.
