ROUSE COST
Sir Arthur de Capell-Brooke, chairman of the Northamptonshire County Council, ( stated at a meeting of the council that the prosecution of Alfred Arthur Rouge would probably cost the Standing Joint Committee £2000, or a halfpenny rate, says the "Daily Mail." County councillors are indignant that this expense should fall upon local rates, and contemplate appealing to the Government for legislation to relieve localities of what it is considered should be a national charge, especially in cases like this, where the accused does not belong to the district.
