BRITISH TRADE RETURNS

LONDON, 14th June. Board of Trade returns for May last compared with May, 1930, show that imports decreased £21,410,000; exports £17,----116,000; re-exports £3,328,000. .Principal decreases in imports were:— Grain and flour, £2,017,000; meat, £2,449,----000; wood and timber, £1,154,000; raw cotton, £2,782,000; oil, seeds, etc., £962,----000; rubber, £675,000; oil and fats and manufactures thereof, £2,256,000.
Exports of food and drink, £653,000;----coal, £1,325,000; iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £2,341,000; machinery, £ 1,591,000; cotton yarns and manufactures thereof, £3,228,000; .woollen goods, £771,000. ■■-,:': . '. . : .
