BIBLE IN STATE SCHOOLS

. (To the Editor.) , Sir,—l see, that the movement for making religious instruction in our schools part of our national system of education is," once more, being foisted on the people. It is stated that the Bill has been fully and freely discussed in all the Church Courts of the Dominion, but in this large community I can find no one who has seen a copy. Surely, in all fairness, the provisions ■of such a Bill should be published in the newspapers throughout the Dominion. I understand the Bill proposes to exempt .Roman Catholics from taxation for educational, purposes.' Can this bo possible? How is it to be done? What about exempting all religious bodies or dissentients who object to a State Church (for that is what the movement really amounts'to) in our national schools? It is the obvious duty of the promoters of the Bill to see that it is published. It is not merely a question for clergymen and teachers.' It involves questions of principle, of conscience, and of national as well as educational policy .— l am, etc.,' ■ SCHOOL TEACHER.
