FOR CAMP COOKS
It is not at all difficult to cook a joint in the opnn air. All you have to do is to dig a hole in the ground about 18 inches or two feet deep, place yonr joint in a tin or dish, and stand it in the hole. Then place a sheet of corrugated iron over the top and light, a fire on it. The heat passes through the iron and cooks the joint perfectly. The hole has, in fact, become an oven. To see how the meat is getting on, push the iron sheet with the fire on it aside, and, if necessary, turn the joint over.
