The billiards champions opened the season in Australia at the Blaxland i Galleries, Sydney, with a ten-day match, Walter Lindrum playing Tom Newman., who receives 5500. Lindnmi got into his stride immediately, and carried an unfinished break of 705 from the afternoon to 1051 during the night. His other best breaks wero 795 and 369. Newman has not yot warmed to his task. The scores at the end of the day were: Newman 6452, Lindrum (in play) 2514.
