WEDDINGS

■ The wedding was recently solemnised at tho Maranui Methodist. Church'of Miss May Vanston, niece of;'' Mrs. Poppo, Kilbirnie, and; Mr. Leslie Cade, elder son of Mr. and Mrs George Cade, Kclbnrn,-1 the ceremony being performed by the Eev. A. M'Dowell. The church was tastefully decorated for the occasion, and Miss M. Hitehings played the wedding music. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. J. G. Kiddcll, wore an ivory- silk taffeta' Victorian frock, trimmed' with silver lace, and an embroidered silk not veil, arranged cap fashion, and held in place with orange blossoms. She carried a dainty bouquet of roses and African daisies. As the bride was leaving the church, she was presented", with a lovely golden horse ;shoo by Miss Billinan. The two bridesmaids were Miss Dora Dale, Timaru, and Miss Madge Poppe, Marton. _ They wore pink and bluo georgette frocks, with hats to tone, and carried bouquc i of roses -aiid larkspurs; Mr. E. .W. Balehin was best man, and Mr.. J. Hennessey ; groomsman. The bride's aunt, Mrs. Poppo, who reecived. the guests; at Scott's, ■worp :i,frock of.blue and- silver-grey floral -silk velvet, with a hat to tone. Mrs. Cade (mother-of the-.bridegroom) wore a .frock of blue crepo satin, with a hat to match, and both ladies carried Victprian posies. The bride and ..bridegroom later loft for the North, the bride travelling in a green celakese ;thrce-pioee siiit, a green felt liali trimmed with gold, .incT wearing a iW fur (the gift o.E the bridegroom).
