Within one week 230 boys have registered at thei; V.M.C.A. The majority are of a good type, arid anxious to obtain employment of any kind. Many of the boys have splendid-educational qualifications, and not a few of. them are giving evidence of the "drecouragement which follows a long jjeriod of enforced idleness and the seemingly endless and. fruitless search for work. The V.M.C.A. directors are holding an emergency meeting on. Tuesday next, with a view to deciding on definite action, but in the meantime they earnestly solicit the co-opera-tion of employers in finding room for one extra boy in thciv respective establishments or in placing a .youth on at least a. part-time basis. The V.M.C.A. will be pleased to negotiate this matter with, prospective employers. The main purpose of any help of this kind would be to tide over the "winter period. The question of occupying a' portion of tho time, of the boys while waiting for employment is now taking definite form, and the technical education •authorities and others ai'e sympathetic' arid' willing to cooperate.
