SUBSTANTIAL FINES
(By Tolegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. F. J. Rombach, an apiarist, of Mangatainoka, was proceeded against in the Pahiatua Magistrate's Court on Saturday by the Labour.Department for failing to pay.the December and March instalments of the unemployment levy. A fine of £2'and costs £1 2s was imposed in the case of the first charge, regarding the December instalment, and a fine of £3 and costs £1 on the second charge. The point was made by the prosecution that the Unemployment Board was spending,. money twice as fast as it was receiving _it under the levy, and it was imperative that all instalments should be paid.
