CAR THIEVES ACTIVE
The epidemic of unlawful converting of motor-cars, which broke out in Wellington recently, continues. These irresponsible persons are becoming bolder, as on Saturday a car belonging to Mr. C. W. Palmer, director of Flu-' enzol Pty., was removed in broad daylight from its parking place at the Miramar golf links. Mr. Palmer parked hi 3 car at 1.30 p.m. in between several others in the members' parking place inside the gates. Some three hours later ho found : his car missing. The police were notified, and at about 1 o'clock yesterday morning Mr. Palmer was informed that his car had been found standing outside a picture theatre in the city. All the petrol in the. tank, in the spare'tin, and in a bottle used for filling the vacuum tank had been used. The car was not damaged in any way, and several articles of value that wero in it were untouched. As if the theft of his car was not enough, Mr. Palmer found when he went to take possession of it a note left by a traffic inspector informing him that he had infringed tho parking regulations.
