CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
On Saturday afternoon a contingent of members o£ the Paraparaumu Gun Club took part in the shooting at Taita with members of the Hutt "Valley Gun Club. The weather conditions were good, but the keen north wind tended to chill the competitors, and the scoring suffered. The first match, of 21 birds, was won by 51. Searle off 12yds with 20 birds. E. Meggery, of Paraparaumu, was second with 18 birds. The second match was a 15-bird handicap for the Tisdall Cup. In the final round the light was failing, but Dr. Anson broke 13 birds and won the cup. W. J. H. Haase and E. Meggery tied for second place with 12 birds each. The results were as follows, handicaps being in parentheses: —First match of 21 birds: P. Searle (12), 20; E. Howell, president of the Paraparaumu Gun Club, thanked the members of the Hutt Valley Club for the pleasant afternoon's shooting, and invited the local club to visit the country club. Dr. Anson thanked the visitors for coming over.
