PETONE v. OLD BOYS.
In the first spell of the second match Old Boys had easily the better of play, and at half-time had a lead of sis points. Moisley and Robins scored a try each, and Davies kicked a penalty goal. For Petone Kelly kicked a penalty goal. The ball was given a good airing in the second half, both teams showing up with bursts of passing. Sherson scored under the posts for Petone, and Kelly converted, making the score, Old ■ Boys 8, Petone 7. Soon after, however, Robins improved Old Boys' position with a try. Until just before time, Petone were mainly on the defensive. A clever move by D. Love, however, paved the way for Kelly to score a try for Petone. Kelly converted, and Petone won the game by a point. The referee was Mr. P. Childs.
