"PAINTING THE AUTUMN LEAVES."
"I have seen lots of pretty-coloured leaves, and I once had a dream, that I went to Fairyland. There I saw pixies painting the autumn leaves bright colours. Next day I went to school with Tippetty Toes, and on the way I saw quite a lot of leaves pretty colours, so I do not know whether it was true or not. Happy days always, Queen Fairiel." "QUEEN OF AUTUMN" (6). Brooklyn. "SHINING WKE GLASS." "On Anzac afternoon we went for a •">?.ve .round the bays, and stopped for t while at Breaker Bay to watch the breakers. They were a simply wonderful sight, and made one hold one's breath while'they came rolling in like huge mountains of sea, and thei. broke into thundering, foaming white spray, some of which caught the rays of the sun and formed myriads of tiny rainbows of beautiful colours. The waves came rolling over the rocks as if they weren't even there, and then when the rocks emerged again they were shining and glinting in the sunlight like glass.'' "T.TOIA. OF THE PINES" (16) Kelburn.
