An investiture which was to. have/ been held was stopped on the order ' of the Governor-General. The Vio \ torian Consul for Czechoslovakia, M-.> E. K. Peacock, was to have beou "in-."I.' vested with the Czecho-Slovakian' Be-r;. public's Order of the White Lion, which/" is bestowed on distinguished ' citizens V of foroign countries, but before the,iceremony was held a telegram was re-" ceivod from tlic military secretary to ■'■ the Governor-General, stating that it was not possible for Mr. Peacock to ; accept the insignia until he had,per-, ;. mission to do so from the King. .The - t iuvestiluie was then postponed.
