The characters include two lovers who attempt to leave this world by suicide, but fall; a minister from the London shuns, a Cockney charwoman, a woman with a shady past, a lovahle young wastrel, a ruthless unscrupulous ballying business man, a kindly steward, and the open-minded examiner."- The cast includes Leslie Howard, the English actor who created the star part of Tom Prior" In the sensationally successful stage production at London, Beryl Mercer, Helen Chandler, Alison Skipworth, Aleo.
