CANBERRA, 18th May.
Youthful messages of peace and goodwill by radiophone synchronising with the opening of the Prevention of War Convention at Washington were sent round the Globo "to-day. The boy selected to speak on behalf of th» Commonwealth was lan Filshie, son of a Canberra schoolmaster. Ho conversed with a lad in the British Houses of Parliament, expressing the hop» that the youth of to-day would try to give effect to the ideals for which, the brave men who died in the war gave their lives. The reply from the English boy was received with remarkabl* clarity. The New Zealand boy's message waa later passed on to the English.boy byHector M'Millan, who, upon receiving a reply to' it, duly transmitted it t» New Zealand. The whole . thing was, a complete success. The messages from. Australia and New Zealand were- delivered to the Washington Convention by the British boy, in the same manner.
